Old and New

Old and New are often similar: old ideas get re-packaged and resurrected. I use this space to test ideas that tend to be old ideas re-hashed. Also, I misuse protocols, but DNS-abuse is not a crime :)

Speaking of DNS-Abuse: I've long used DNS as a transport for things; if you've ever looked up an OUI using DNS, you see why:

1. Lightweight
2. fast
3. minimal TCP stack
4. Automatically cached
5. already configured
6. passes most paywall routers (Hi Gogo Inflight)
7. Datacenters and corporations have realized that Split-Horizon DNS ("firewalled DNS") is no benefit for the effort
8. load-balanced
